Northwest Bergen Central Dispatch (NWBCD) is always seeking qualified applicants to join our team as Public Safety Telecommunicators. The NWBCD Telecommunicator is responsible for the effective and efficient handling of emergency and non-emergency calls as well as the communications of over fifteen public safety agencies. Duties can include:

Receive and process emergency and non-emergency phone calls.

Provide pre-arrival emergency medical instructions to callers.

Dispatch appropriate public safety personnel in a professional and timely manner.

Record and track calls for service in a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.

Handle NCIC and CJIS look-ups and entries for law enforcement officers.
Required Education
-
High school or equivalent
Required Certifications
-
Valid CPR Card
-
Valid Basic Telecommunicator / 9-1-1 Officer
-
Valid Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD)
Candidates must also pass an aptitude test and type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
